Hoss
My Pard Verdadero passed away last June. We had a memorial match in his honor today. we planted a tree in his honor, put this stone down. (One of his favorite movies was “The Outlaw Josey Wales” the epitaph came from that movie. Seemed to fit.

Silver Creek Jack
Well done Hoss, that tree and rock is a great tribute to a friend.
Phantom, SASS #54973
Thank God I was able to shoot with him right before he passed. I had known him for a while...and though we weren't buddy-buddies, we knew each other enough to say hi. He was a good guy... Turquoise Bill, SASS #39118
RIP Verdadero, I remember shooting with him and you Hoss at the Comancheria days match a few years ago. Had a great time with the whole posse, Bushy, Verdadero, you Hoss and a host of other great people from Texas. It's been a challenging year, lost a number of shooters from this game. Prayers up, TB
Palo Alto Kid
My Fellow Vaqueros and I always enjoyed hosting Verdadero down in the Rio Grande Valley! I’ll miss shooting with him, but even more so, I’ll miss those after-match lunches, where the conversations were always, lively, entertaining and enlightening! Best Verdadero one-liner ever: Despite a huge cloud from shooting full loads of FFG BP on a cool, damp morning, I had several blatant misses on a stage the spotters unanimously called clean. I turned around and looked at Dan holding the timer with my arms out and palms up in that ubiquitous ‘what the heck’ posture and he just shakes his head and bellows out a long Merry Christmas Kid!!! Vaya con Dios Amigo! Edited September 15 by Palo Alto Kid
