Has this barrel been lined?

Recommended Posts

What do you think?

It's listed as a .41 mag Virginian Dragoon, but they're so rare in that chambering, I have serious doubts. Ignore the High Standard Double Nine pics.

Is the cylinder numbered to the frame?   Because if they lined the barrel, they would still need to find a .41 Magnum cylinder for the gun.  If a complete .41 mag Virginian Dragoon is rare, a replacement cylinder would be even rarer.

And the forcing cone would give a better idea to see if the barrel had been lined

I almost bought one of those in .44 mag long ago in a galaxy far away. They had one left, I was about to lay the money down and happened to notice after handling it for the who knows how may times that the muzzle was cut crooked. I passed it up, never found another. Too bad, I really liked that big old pistol

The .44 mags are common and easy to come by, the .357 and .45's are less common, and the .41's are so scarce some collectors say they were never marketed to the public. I've never seen a .41, just pictures of a couple.
