Bisbee, Arizona is one of the West's largest copper cities. Billions of dollars in copper and other metals were mined here and the frontier town grew to be an important mining center by 1900. Today, Bisbee is a fascinating and colorful city full of amazing history, and is a popular tourist destination.

Bisbee is a cool little town that is always a mandatory visit when we head to Tombstone.

Whereas Tombstone is primarily cowboy and old west - Bisbee leans heavily into the arts community for their towns persona with plenty of differing galleries and eclectic stores.

Desert Scorpions love of "Art Cars" (heavily adorned vehicles usually with a theme or consistent decoration {covered in pennies, seashells or empty 45acp cases etc.})  was developed during visits to Bisbee.

In addition the tour of the Copper Queen mine is a must visit when in town - make reservations early as tours sell out and you will regret missing it.

For those that enjoy cop novels, the author J. A. Jance wrote series of novels in the Joanna Brady series that takes place in Bisbee in modern times. Entertaining brain candy. At last count there were at least 15 novels in the series. Joanna Brady is the main character, and is the Sheriff of Cochise County.

Any Colt shipped to and sold through the Copper Queen store in Bisbee or one of it's branch stores is instantly more valuable. There has been speculation that a Copper Queen Colt was used by mine guards. That is not necessarily true as the Copper Queen Mercantile, while a company store, sold to anyone that entered. Ranchers, shop keeps, citizens of all sorts shopped at the Copper Queen Mercantile. The store advertised that they stocked many brands of guns. If you have a Colt from the 1900-1910 time period it is worth while to get it lettered. If it comes back as a Copper Queen Colt, the value is double to triple what a comparable common Colt would be.
