Isleton , CA.

The sign is slightly puzzling. At the bottom, it says that it was dedicated in the year of the pig, and it has a picture of a pig. That makes sense.

 

I putAT the top it says it was built in 1927, and it has a picture of a horse. 1927 was not the Year of the horse. 1930 was.

 

1927 was the year of the fire rabbit, which is interestingly because the building was rebuilt after a fire that took place in 1926.

If you’re close to Isleton, your close to Al’s Place in Locke, known as “Al the Wop’s” back in the day. Old school bar & grill! Best fried chicken in California!

Been there. 

 

Isleton is a historic little town in the Sacramento delta. Been a few years since I was there, used to be some pretty good eateries there.
