Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
Several points: 1. If he passed away on February 18, 2022, then why the delay in making the announcement? 2. His role as Beau Dorn was in the movie. "Crossfire Trail". 3. I've never seen the movie, and am now looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for the post @Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438. Thanks for the post @Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Just to answer on delay of announcement, especially stars or former stars. News outlets, unless they were big stars or made headlines, many times don't make the news. I can remember sending a Christmas card as we always did to a close friend, Ed Kemmer, (you'll probable have to look that name up). His wife called after receiving the card and said that Ed had passed away couple days before we sent card. No news on his passing except their local paper. Same for Robert Horton, John Lupton, and Ty Hardin, no national news report of their dead. It was through their wives or children we heard the news, of even later in the obituary columns of Classic Images that we hear of a stars death. Last year when Mike Henry, Football and Tarzan star died, there was little mention and many fans of Tarzan were unaware of his passing on Facebook. The strange thing about his passing was that his co-star in Tarzan movie, Diana Millay, also died the same day 2 hours apart. But again, many have forgotten these and other stars and their passing is sometimes only through families or friends that one hears of.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Sad news about Johnson; so young! About the time the movie was released there was an article published somewhere about restoring original firearms to like new condition for the film. I can't find the article, but IMFDB has pretty cool coverage of 'em. Be sure to check out the Remington-Keene rifle! http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Crossfire_Trail
