Smokewagon Grampies Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Any chance anyone knows what the piano wire size would be for the lightest spring that would work, would be? I can order one but I want very soft. Thanks Smokewagon Grampies.

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Don't understand how much benefit you get by going even lighter. At some point, it will become unreliable on the reset to "blocking the trigger" after a firing cycle. I'm pretty sure that I can't feel any resistance from the commercial springs I've used when running at speed. good luck, GJ
Beaver Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Grampies, I probably have one that you could have if you want it. I have some from online outpost and I have some Boogie. Beaver
Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Howdy When Bill English retired a few years ago, he sold a lot of his The Smith Shop stock to Online Outpost. It is Bill's original design for the lever safety of the 1873 that they are selling today. I see no need to go any lighter.
Deuce Stevens SASS#55996 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 They are cheap, but when doing a quick tune up to help a newbie get going I often make them from Wolff Ruger trigger springs that I take out of guns because I like our spring better.
