Hashknife Cowboy Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Anyone know of a source of ammo for the 33 Winchester? Appreciate all of your help and its time to now start the search.....
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 https://www.ows-ammo.com/33-win-200gr-lgc Says they are out of stock, but you might be able to ask them if they expect to make any more.
Trailrider #896 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Forming .33 WCF from .45-70 brass isn't difficult. It takes a two-stage set of forming dies, some patience and a bit of care not to get too hamfisted at each stage. Use LIGHT case lube at each stage, and wipe off excess lube before going to the next stage to avoid getting oil dents. Once you get the brass formed, resizing fired cases is no more difficult than any other bottlenecked cartridge. The only sad thing is that Hornady no longer makes the .338 FSP bullets. You can do quite well with hard cast lead alloy slugs, however. Stay well and safe, Pard!
Waxahachie Kid #17017 L Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Check Buffalo Arms Company.... I think I have seen that offered, but of course, they are probably out of stock, right now....but....who isn't???? Out of stock.... On back order.... Unavailable... Yada Yada Yada...
Jailhouse Jim, SASS #13104 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Hendershot's Sporting Goods custom loads them.
Jailhouse Jim, SASS #13104 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Gad Custom Cartridges does them too. Great guy to work with for obsolete ammo.
Canton Chris Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 If you end up reloading, Matt’s Bullets sells a cast bullet for the 33 WCF
