Mountain Wolf
I am trying to find someone who makes/sells 20 gauge lightweight dummy rounds. I have some but they are full weight, for shucking practice I need lightweight rounds. Any help would be appreciated.
John Boy
Quote I need lightweight rounds. Just fill the hull with cotton - simple as that
Goody, SASS #26190
Just use fired rounds, what could be better?
Turkey Flats Jack
you can find 20 ga snap caps on ebay. better for dry fire than dummy rounds unless you have something to use in the primer to prevent damage to your firing pin.
Warden Callaway
I made 12 gauge snap caps by inserting a piece of small plastic glue gun stick into the primer pocket.
Sarge
I make mine by punching out the primers, cutting the plastic to length, and filling them with silicone caulk. Let the caulk harden, then trim the silicone oozing out of the primer hole flush with the brass, with a razor blade.
Sedalia Dave
Hard rubber o-ring material (Burna-70 or harder) just a hair larger than the primer diameter. Push into the primer pocket till it is forced past the narrow part at the bottom. Trim flush with a razor blade.
