Widder, SASS #59054 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 These past few weeks have had me testing 3 pistols in 10mm using a variety of load data (up to 14 different load data stuff). My test included the EAA Witness Compact with a 3.6" barrel, the SIG P220 Elite with a 5" barrel, and the Springfield TRP with 6" barrel. Bullets used were 135, 165 and 180 grainers. Loads were chronographed at a measured 8 feet from muzzle to first sky screen. And although accuracy is always subjective to each shooter, I do have some comments on accuracy performance at 8 measured yards. Hopefully, I will have all my numbers crunched by this weekend and will post the results. If you like the 10mm, you may find some of this info helpful. ..........Widder
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 The best powder I have found to the 10, is Blue-Dot. OLG
LawMan Mark, SASS #57095L Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Looking forward to it. I've been a 10mm fan since I bought a Delta Elite in 1988. My current favorite is my 5" TRP Operator.
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Hey Lumpy. I've got some Blue Dot data also. Lawman: Do you have a favorite powder/bullet combo for you TRP? I will also have some data for the 155 grain bullet. My data may not cover everything, but its some good data. I gathered it with no sponsorship. All the guns were bought and owned by either me or Slater. And all the loading components and chronograph are owned by us also. More later. ..........Widder
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 BD likes it best, when loaded towards the top end. All I use in 9mm, 40S&W and 10mm. OLG
Church Key, SASS # 33713 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I'm a Power Pistol person myself. That said, I prefer .40 S&W, even in my G-20's. Not sure why; just do. At some point the 10 mm's cycles so fast for me, they become unreliable. The Underwood boomers are the worst.
DocWard Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 And here I thought you were just keeping us in suspense as to where to find our sockets.
Three Foot Johnson Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I settled on 800X, a 180 grain XTP, and CCI-300 primers.

J.Bar, sadly, we didn't test the 800X. I wanted to test it but I didn't have any readily available and I was very busy testing the various powders that we had AND the various bullet weights in those pistols. It was fun to do..... but it was a little tedious. If you got a favorite 800X load and want to share, please feel free to post it into my upcoming thread. Hopefully, the thread will garner some good load info based on actual experiences of performance. ..........Widder
