Howdy,

Do you know where the real old guns are, from the real west?

Annie Oakleys rifle(s)?

Buffalo Bills guns?

And so on,

The real lawmen and gunslingers...where did their guns get to?

I imagine some of Custers guns are at the Custer Battlefield.

This could help in planning a vacation or two or three??

Best

CR

The Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Western Heritage Center (I think that's what they call it now) in Cody, WY has a number of firearms once owned by Annie Oakley, Buffalo Bill and Theodore Roosevelt, among others, as does the Gene Autry Museum in CA. The Cody Museum is actually several western history museums in one and is well worth taking two or three days to see it all. -- GIT

Ditto . . . both those places. Haven't been to Cody Museum . . .but to the Autry a few times. Great collection of old west stuff and historic connected guns. :)

Also up by Cody, Wyoming, Trailtown looks like it would be worth a visit.

Between all of the museums at the Buffalo Bill Center in Cody a feller could spend a week and probably not see it all.

Next time you are in Branson, MO, the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks has an impressive gun collection... historic, modern and military. And 1/2 hour to the north in Springfield's Bass Pro Shop is the NRA Museum. It gets more visitors than the one at NRA headquarters.
