Trigger Mike Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 saw one in town at a pawn shop. finish is probably 85%. original grips. good condition. they were asking 549. said they'd throw in a box of hornady 38+p and a BB pistol that looks like a beretta M9
Chili Ron Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Howdy, Pard, just head over to gunbroker and search on that. Maybe leave off the caliber. Only you know what the colt looked like so you compare to the ones with bids....not the 0 bid guns. OR if you join gb you can view FINISHED auctions and see what folks really bid/paid. My 85% could by your 65% so that is hard to figure. MY QUESTION is will they pay all or part if the gun fails to work right off? I once bought a very used 357 and it was hard to eject fired 357 shells. The dealer took back the gun and handed me back every dollar. Are you surprised I bought from him for many years? And I still clean up his headstone. Just down the way from Grandpa.... Best CR price is not way outta line.....
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Can't say for sure. I bought a Trooper at the Rod & Gun club on post in Germany in '68. I'm ashamed to say what I bought it for. And what I sold it for. ;(
Alpo Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 After I bought a Python I had no further "need" for the Trooper. Swapped it for a Ruger 44 Carbine. At least I still have the Ruger.
Tom Bullweed Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 $549 is what I see on .38 Police Positives in 40% finish or refinished condition. This sou ds like a good deal, but any issues that require smithing or parts will cost more than S&W or Ruger work.
Trigger Mike Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 i got it and realized its a patrolman mk III instead. sorry. but it shoots just fine. always wanted a colt revolver and can't afford the python or cobra.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Congratulations! Like your first love, you never forget your first Colt.
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I bought a Colt Trooper 357 back in the early 80's to carry for work. I'm sure it was less than $300. Good gun.
