Rootin Tootin Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 will the replacement wood for an original 1897, from Sile, fit the IAC 97?? Thanks..........RT
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Forearms have a couple of configurations (three screw holes being one) and will be a problem unless you are really good at knowing your 97s. Your IAC does not use the three-screw type of forearm. Buttstock - most likely will fit. BUT - current production 97 clone wood is available from Coyote Cap. coyotecap.com I'd go that way, and get really nice walnut already finished, and no chance of a forearm disaster. Good luck, GJ
John Barleycorn, SASS #76982 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 RT, I have an original fore end from an E series 97 on the Merchant Corner.
Outlaw Gambler Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 The sile should fit. I installed one on a 09 IAC. Some may require a rat tail file to open the inlet hole for the receiver shank.
Happy Jack, SASS #20451 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 All parts for the IAC '97's are available from Coyote Cap
