Rye Miles #13621
What's that thing on top of the receiver? Looks like a scope mount maybe?
Tyrel Cody
What's that thing on top of the receiver? Looks like a scope mount maybe? Yes. When I bought it had an old beat up Tasco scope on it that wouldn't hold zero. Was going to put tang sights on it but never got roundtuit.

Castalia,SASS#18915
This might help you sell that rifle. Brownells has a William's rear sight that fits your gun. It is the same as the factory original. Part# 962-100-158AHWGRS-HR for $35.99 If you want to use it for Plainsman you will need to add part# 962-350-218AH. That is a 3/16 U notch blade. Tyrel Cody
Good point Castalia, I'll drop the price to make up the difference in that.
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
These rifles are light enough to shoot offhand in a Quigley match, unlike some heavy-barreled buffalo rifles.
Three Foot Johnson
This is a GREAT price - less than these rifles generally retailed for when they were in production. I paid $351.49 at Sportsman's Warehouse WITH my employee discount in 2008.

Three Foot Johnson
Tell me a little more about it - approximate round count, bore condition, rust, dings, dents, scratches, lockup, etc. Any brass you can toss in with it?
Tyrel Cody
I bought it used last summer, so I really don't know round count. I shot 10 times just to make sure it was fine, removed the cheapo scope and put it away. Bore looks fine. Stock has a few bumps probably from hunting but looks pretty good. Locks up good. I might have a few pieces of brass I could throw in, will dig around later.

Three Foot Johnson
Thank goodness! Sure didn't need it, but at that price, it was hard to pass up!
