Buffalo Creek Law Dog Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 He was the Sgt at Arms that shot the terrorist, that killed the guard, at the tomb of the unknown soldier and then began shooting his way into the Canadian Parliament. He has just been appointed as the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland. the article said that he has a strong Irish/Canadian connection. Nice reward for eliminating a terrorist scumbag. (and the pay is not bad either, $150,000 plus all the perks that go with the job) Well deserved Kevin.
Sparky Nelson Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Yeah, ambassador to Ireland. Now there's a tough job. But I agree, he deserves it more than some political suckup.
Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Now there's a man I respect!
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Congrats to him. A tough professional in an ambassador's position. Never happen here.
Tom Bullweed Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 He will likely not be able to be armed in Ireland. Very tough gun laws.
Jess Money Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 He has just been appointed as the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland. You can bet your sweet bippy if he desires to be armed, he'll have his choice of any sidearm available
Sparky Nelson Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Diplomatic immunity covers a multitude of sins. Plus I believe ambassadors usually get bodyguards.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 IIRC he went to his desk to get his pistol
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 IIRC he went to his desk to get his pistol Yes. That's what the reports said at the time. And I would expect that. The Sgt at Arms position is more ceremonial than actual security and they did have armed officers in the building. I suspect they have more now.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Even with that the presence of mind to re enter the battle shows some true stones
Dapper Dynamite Dick Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 A true professional, a member of the older generation of the RCMP.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 More quilified to be an ambassador, then what O'bummer has been appointing.
