Tom Bullweed Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 December 1903 the Wright Brothers fly 120 feet at Kitty Hawk, NC. By 1917 planes had been developed into bomber, observation and fighters. Fighters could fly over 150 mph, up to 20k feet and had props synchronized to their machine guns. What an amazing fourteen years. I have a number of books by and about WWI participants. 'All Quite on the Western Front' is a very good novel by and about a German soldier. 'Make the Kaiser Dance' is 100 short stories of WW1 participants. Von Trapps' 'Memoirs of a U-Boat Captain' is also a great read.
