Dusty Morningwood
This is funny. A song performed by The Sons of the Pioneers, it was deemed "subversive" and "defeatist" by the House Un-Amarican Activities Committee and radio stations were pressured into taking it off the air. In 1950 (I think) , it was the number 1 novelty song in the US. "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men may be cremated equal." Classic! G. I. Tarpicker, SASS #998
I've heard Pete Seeger sing that. I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if Woody Guthrie had a hand in writing it. -- GIT

DocWard
Is it just me, or did there seem to be a lot of tests in California? Could that explain things?

Dusty Morningwood
Hotels along the strip used to have Atomic Cocktail hours. You could sit poolside at the Sands and actually see the mushroom clouds rise 65 miles away. Night shots would light up the sky and create eerie silhouettes in the city. I have a cool wire photo of this.
