The Senate Judiciary Committee is overbooked with bills and this one may not make it not make it out before the session ends Saturday noon. Let's hope the Committee convenes long afternoon sessions in the Bull Ring Bar across the street from the Roundhouse conducts the peoples business there. Any pleas I make to Senator Sanchez who is on the committee and represents my district would be wasted. He will cast the first vote in favor of the bill.

COME TO CAPITOL IN SANTA FE FOR LAST FEW HOURS OF SESSION

THIS SATURDAY MORNING (MARCH 16) - SHOW YOUR OPPOSITION TO HB 77

As of 10:00pm Friday night, the New Mexico State Senate had not yet taken up HB 77 by Rep. Miguel Garcia (D-ABQ), which would criminalize private firearms transfers at gun shows in New Mexico and require them to be conducted through federal firearm licensed dealers. As we've reported before, this is just the first step toward banning ALL private gun sales -- in fact, that's how the bill read as introduced.

The Senate will likely work late into the night and then come back in the morning to finish out the session before adjourning at noon Saturday. We realize this is a late request, but in case the bill isn't considered Friday evening, we are asking opponents of HB 77 to come stand outside the capitol Saturday morning around 8am and bring a sign or lapel sticker that simply says "No on 77." You can then move to the gallery when the Senate gets started and watch the last few hours of work.

The opposition is sure to show up, so we need you to do this one last thing to protect your rights in New Mexico. Emotions run high the last day of session, so please remember to be respectful on capitol premises and in the gallery - no signs or audible reactions are allowed once the Senate session convenes. Remember, our actions reflect on both the issue being debated and Second Amendment advocates across the Land of Enchantment. Thank you for all of your phone calls and emails in opposition to HB 77 thus far!

According to this article (http://www.capitolreportnewmexico.com/tag/house-bill-77/) if the admendment didn't kill it there would have been a filibuster that would have stalled the passage of all bills.

Big Sage, you are always welcome at gun shows in Farmington.

Too bad we couldn't have done the same thing here in Colorado!

Well we had a lot more than one bill and the dang deck was stacked against us.
