el Gato Gordo - SASS #15162
Washington, DC, is not the first planned capital in the world. St Petersburg, Russia, was founded by Peter the Great in 1703. Of course, Russia has moved it's national government back to the traditional capital of Moscow, but St Petersburg was the first planned national capital. But the list is interesting, just the same. Utah Bob #35998
Jacksonville incorporated the entire Duval county into its city limits. Except for 3 other toens Jacksonville Is Dual County and vice versa. That's why it's so huge. I'm sure they had a good reason. Nothing is ever done in Florida without good reason right? Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
HAHAHAHA WASHINGTON Seattle apparently has not learned the advantages of quality over quantity. Turning out college grads does not necessarly make them all intelligent. Some are well educated but some are only edumicated.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
WASHINGTON Seattle has twice as many college graduates as any other state. I strongly doubt that. Seattle has an estimated 215,000 college Graduates. California has 38 million people. I am sure that more than .5% of them graduated from college. New York City has more than 1.5 million college graduates, New York State has millions.

Harvey Mushman
Yep. California was a runaway 5th (in the WORLD economy!) and in a sustained climb for many years until a certain party took over both houses of the legislature for the last 15 years or so - and had near complete economic policy implementation control - now seventh and rapidly falling........... Same policies now being implemented nationally (trying not to go to far politically ). Harvey It WAS a great(er) state. It can be again.......if.....
