Buckaroo Bubba
Does anyone know what the policy is for using the SASS Logo? Can SASS Affliated clubs use it for their newsletters, webpages and such? What about Club appearal, can you use it on shirts, hats and such? Just don't want to step on any toes. Thanks, Buckaroo Bubba

Pitmaster, SASS #78461
I would get it straight from the horse's mouth for accuracy. Sometimes not asking and just doing is the best way to approach these things.
Matthew Duncan
If your club is SASS affiliated then the club may use the SASS logo on the club's SASS promoting brochures and web site.
Wimpy Hank Yoho
Does anyone know what the policy is for using the SASS Logo? Can SASS Affliated clubs use it for their newsletters, webpages and such? (I think this is very proper, without any problems) What about Club appearal, can you use it on shirts, hats and such? ( I think if You are going to be selling these items, that is different, and it sounds like You are checking with SASS HQ about this. You might have to get a SASS License to sell, and/or maybe give SASS a percentage? I am not positive on this ?) Just don't want to step on any toes. Buckaroo Bubba
Mainly I was concerned about the newsletter and website.. Any gear we would have made up would not be for profit just advertising for our club.. it was mainly just curiousity. don't think i was going to use it anyway on clothing.. Thanks.. Chili Ron
Im 99% sure the sass logo can be used on your website and newsletter. Also on business cards as long as you dont indicate you are representing SASS HQ. A phone call during regular business hours would be polite. At one time I was going to 'borrow' the SASS logo and SASS hq took my idea and you can now buy SASS coins from Hq. Mostly they are nice to deal with. Chuckaroo #13080 Regulator
From the SASS web site under club affilliations, A SASS Club gets among many other things, "• License to use SASS logos in club newsletter, advertising, and promotion" Roo

Thanks, Buckaroo Bubba About a year ago, I was in the same position you are (wondering about the appropriateness of using the logo). I contacted the SASS office, about using the logo on my clubs website, and not only did they cite where the rules of affiliation gave the clubs the right to use it, they sent me a copy of the logo (which was much easier to deal with). If you have sent them an email, I am sure they will get back to you. Don't know about apparel and other uses... J.D.
Slowhand Bob, 24229
Some items are in a grey zone and might lead to embarrassment. Say you are selling Ts at cost, this could easily be defended as a 'non profit' promotional item 'BUT' SASS already has someone licensed to sell the Ts and they are paying SASS for the right. Thanks, Buckaroo Bubba I went through this with my club ....I e-mailed SASS and this is what they told me....If you are a SASS affliated club, you are free to use their logo on letter heads, awards and club web sites , what you can't do is use it to make money, as in garments and items for sale or to profit from.....we use it on our web site, our awards we hand out to class winners at monthlys and our year end banquet awards........
