Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
With diesel being so high I decided if I'm going to go to some out of state shoots I would go to some that I haven't been to before. First the name, "Best Shoot by a Dam Site." The shoot takes place just a couple of miles from Hoover Dam and the 1930's town of Boulder, Nevada. Scenic views going and coming. They didn't have a banquet, but did have 1/2 price coupons at the Railroad Pass Casino. Great prime rib dinner for six bucks! The Eldorado Cowboys are trying to grow this shoot so they put on what people like; decent sized targets placed more towards the SASS minimums than maximums and well written easy to understand but FUN stages. Thanks for all the hard work Eldorado Cowboys!

Shooting Bull
it was a big-close-simple as they come And I STILL had five misses. I blame Johnny Meadows. No idea what he did, but I blame him anyway. FUN posse!!! Had a ton of laughs.

Creeker, SASS #43022
Lets here some more about this match. 10 stages of close and fast. Only two stages of Stand and Deliver in the entire match. Every other stage had a minimum of two positions - a couple had as many as four. 100 shooters with 25 clean going into day two - 10 managed to stay clean for the match. While the rifle and pistol sequence were the same as each other on each individual stage, once you had shot that stage, you were not going to see that sequence again. No one enjoys repeating the same sweep or starting position stage after stage - You didn't get that at Dam Site. Dam Site is a shooters shoot - No "P" traps, no memory tests - just plain ol' simple, cut loose, run your guns and let the lead fly. If you weren't having fun - you need to re examine your own ideas and expectations - because Dam Site was everything a cowboy shoot is supposed to be. I wish I hadn't of but other committments got plum in the way.. Sounds like, and I know you and the club did well in stage writing and setup. I will put Dam Site on my radar screen for next year. I hope to make it to Eldorado this year. Make Eldorado like Dam Site and it will be a hoot...my kinda shoot. Blastmaster

Make Eldorado like Dam Site and it will be a hoot...my kinda shoot. Blastmaster Eldorado will be in the same flavor - Close, fast, fun. As it says in the handbook "Everyone likes to hit targets - some will just hit (or miss) faster than others." We actually enjoy the look on a shooters face when they hear their time and exclaim "Really?!? That's the fastest I have ever shot - I have never shot a stage in the 40's/ 30's/ 20's or teens before" Or the other side of the coin where shooters are thrilled because they have a real shot at a clean match. There are clubs, match directors and shooters that take joy in seeing shooters crash - that's not us. We want every shooter to leave with a grin on their face and marking their calendar for next year.
Shooting Bull
Blastmaster, if you enjoyed Ruckus at Red Rock you'll love any match put on by the Eldorado Cowboys. They're a great bunch of folks who put a ton of thought and effort into their matches. The only people who don't have a good time are those that would boo Santa Clause.
