Shoot the barrels with a shot of Ballistol and push a sheet of paper towel down the barrel. Wipe down gun with Ballistol and a rag . Done ! It's not black magic or rocket science. Rooster
  3. Back when I started In Cowboy Action Shooting. Deuce Steven's was waiting on me at a local gun store. I was buying a used Winchester 9422 rifle . Deuce asked me if I knew about Cowboy Action Shooting ? I never heard of it . And as we talked and I was doing my paperwork. He showed me some YouTube videos of them Shooting a match. I went and watched him shoot that weekend at a local club and I was hooked . I actually owned most everything needed to play the game except a gun cart . I built a gun cart that weekend and was Shooting the next weekend. I had a Rossi 92 in 44 magnum and Two Blackhawk 44 magnum revolvers with a Stoeger SxS 12g . I still use the same cart today . I shot with them guns for the first three years . I have bought all different kinds of Rifles and pistols over the years but I always keep Shooting 44 magnum or Special 44 Russian or 44/40's . I know own 1860's 66's , 73's , 92's , 94's Marlin's & Henry's all in 44's I own Blackhawks , Vaqueros Cattleman's, Opentops , S&W No3's , Remington's Ubertie's and Pietta's . Shotguns in Winchester, Rossi , Stoeger, Steven,aAnd a 87 or two & So on all in 12g . It becomes a addiction ! I tell everyone who wants to start . Start with what you got , Up grade if or when you can . Just come join the fun . Many of us have lots of extras to help someone in need or a New shooter . We need to help bring more people to the game and Not drive them away with saying you have to have this or that to play the game . Come with what you got . Just come ! Rooster
  4. Marry Christmas to All! Rooster
  5. You can't fix stupid
  6. 92's & 86's are cartridge length sensitive. On my 92's in 44 I can run Special just as fast a Magnum's . But you have to load them long . So my 44 Specials run 200g RNFP and instead of crimping at the crimp groove. I crimp at the top first lube groove . Works just as well as 44 Mag cartridge. Can Not run 44 Russian at all in the 92. The cartridge is just way to short . I run the 44 Russian cartridges in my 73 with a Smith shop short carrier , and that works great . We always want to recreat the wheel . But there is limits on the size of what will work or not work . Rooster
  7. Nice set of guns . Once you put a name on them , No body really wants them . Good luck with your sale .
  8. I'm happy with mine stock out of the box . This is me playing with my stock 87 the first time out with it . Cowboy loads first run . Slugs second run . https://youtube.com/shorts/hQdePdgjW-Y?feature=share
  9. A few pics of the Brotherhood of The Traveling 1858 Box from Pietta. #pietta_firearms #pietta-emf You can check out my YouTube and Rumble Videos at BigRooster616
  10. 20" would be better for Cowboy Action. 24" would be better for Hunting and longer range plinking . If you don't know that your ever going to be able to get into Cowboy Action Shooting for sure . Then I myself would go with the 24" . It would be better for everything else and you still can use it for Cowboy Action Shooting Even Cowboy Long Range Lever Gun ! You would have a do it all lever gun in one gun ! Got to love that . I have several 19" Carbine guns . Several 20" Rifle guns . And two 24" Rifle guns . If I could one have One. I would keep my 24" Rifle! Rooster
  11. Absolutely Brother. The Program is to get more people interested in Cap Guns . I believe it should be here today or tomorrow. Pics to come soon . Rooster
  12. I started a post on this a month or so ago . A few SASS Wire Cry Babies got my post closed down from all the whining and crying over the plastic stocks. The one good thing about the plastic stocks is they probably won't crack like the wood was notorious for doing on the Stoeger shotguns. I picked one up myself. It's a great backup or loaner shotgun IMHO. I think back when I posted it they was on sale for like 220.00 or something like that . I can't remember. Rooster
  13. My Navy Arms Uberti No.3's and My Cimarron Uberti No.3's Are Night and Day different in smoothness feel and quality IMHO .
  14. According to Matt from Pietta Firearms. The general idea of the program to to gain people's attention to shooting Cap Guns and introduce them to the Sport of Black Powder Guns .
  15. I have a couple of the 1858 Conversion Cylinder for my Pietta pistols . I will have to check and see ? I'm more of a Cap Gun shooter in Cap Guns . I already have lots of Cartridge guns . This is a program by Pietta to get more people interested in shooting Cap Guns. Rooster

I have now been selected as the next guy to review this awesome Brotherhood of the Traveling 1858 By Pietta. ( BigRooster616 ) On YouTube coming soon. Pic's and more coming soon to The SASS Wire ! Rooster.
  17. I have four of them. Two 7 1/4 and Two 5" They both are fun to shoot but I don't use them at all in competition . They are a lot of fun to shoot . And they sure are Beautiful to look at . Just Sayin. Rooster
  18. This is a the cheapest best way to start in my opinion. Lee Reloading Classic 4 Hole Turret Press Deluxe Kit 90304 https://www.ebay.com/itm/333561105053?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=wqqvNguUTum&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=EO4YYNjoR1O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  19. It would almost be impossible to buy loaded Ammo and shoot Cowboy Action Shooting in any manner. You really need to buy some used equipment or some Lee equipment. And start loading your own ammo . Once you get started . You will wonder why it took you so long to start doing it . Even if you don't have a lot of space you can load on a small enough scale to keep yourself Shooting. So Saith The Rooster .
  20. Yes ! Let's put some faces with names some of us may never meet in-person , But talk with on the wire . Thank you . Rooster Ron Wayne
