Georgia State SASS Championship - 2024
Captain Bill Burt replied to Krazy Kajun's topic in SASS Wire
I don't know, it's so far away. It will take the Burt Bunch at least 25 minutes to drive to one of the funnest matches in the southeast. Let me think about it....yeah, all of us will be there! -
LAND RUN, THE 2024 SASS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP[
Captain Bill Burt replied to Flat Top Okie's topic in SASS Wire
I agree. Why would categories matter other than to ‘shop’? If a specific category doesn’t fill I’m sure those who registered for that category will get ample notice given the match is already almost full and we’re still 9 months out. -
I occasionally find unfired rounds after wet tumbling. It never occurred to me to try and fire them, they go in the trash.

73, vs 92, vs Marlin, vs Lighting
Captain Bill Burt replied to H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619's topic in SASS Wire
There’s no need for experiments. Widder has provided the answer. Go back and look at the top ten finishers at EOT for the last ten years or so and count how many of them were shooting a 92 or a Lightning. I’m pretty sure the number you will come up with is zero. -

I’m in the ‘it’s your gun do as you please’ camp.

Different shooters will have different needs. I run Jimmy Spurs NMVs. The springs are very light, probably in the 14 lb range. They work for me. Iron Cowboy OTH doesn't like his that light, he says he out runs the springs (I believe him). I took out the springs that came with his NMVs (the gunsmith had cut them so short we were getting occasional failure to fire) and replaced them with 19 lb springs, which are just right, for him. -
Very true.

Already reserved an AirBnB. -
It's been my experience that when you try to get a single solution to two different requirements you end up with something that isn't satisfactory for either. As Joe mentioned you will get better results with purpose built ammo. Perhaps Unique for hunting and Titewad (what I use) for target.

If you do buy a EV , you might not want a Hyundai
Captain Bill Burt replied to Buckshot Bob 's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
@Subdeacon Joe I support your right to argue whatever position you choose. I support your right to believe whatever you choose. Unfortunately the EV crowd has moved from debate to force. They’re no longer willing to simply argue their position in the marketplace of ideas, they’re working hard to take choice off the table and achieve their ends by forced compliance. That makes this debate less about EVs vs ICE and more about knuckling under to pressure or standing up for liberty. I’m on the side of liberty, but to be clear, even if that wasn’t what was at stake, it’s clear to me that EVs aren’t ready for prime time and likely never will be. PHEV’s OTH have real potential, possessing most of the advantages of pure EVs with far fewer of the disadvantages. -

Respectfully. I participate in the Camaro sixth gen forum. Surprisingly there are a fair number of EV fanboys over there. They sound just like you. EV’s are a fire hazard. Resale value is suspect. Battery replacement is very expensive. Installing in home charging is expensive. Charging stations are not plentiful and many current ones are often broken. Charging is slow. Ranges are inadequate and almost always far overstated. The grid is not ready for large scale EV adoption. EVs are not green in production and often not in use depending upon the source of electricity. They don’t work well in the cold. They don’t work well in the heat. They’re very heavy, damaging roads and resulting in much more pollution from tire degradation. The government is trying to force us to use them. Subjective, but to me they’re boring disposable appliances. People who do road trips with lots of gear (many cowboys) see their travel time increase exponentially. If they were great, they wouldn’t need subsidies. We wouldn’t see the government deliberately increasing the cost of ICE vehicles. We wouldn’t see ICE bans. If EVs were great they would survive on their own, like ICE vehicles did when they replaced horses. They don’t because they’re a product of woke thinking in conjunction with a corrupt nanny state. EVs are inferior technology with extremely limited usefulness forced on us by idiots.- 130 replies

That sounds nice!! I rarely drive anymore. Pretty much only Cowboy matches on Saturday, Sharyn’s SUV, or recreational in the Camaro.
