  1. They have a tab, but the tab is on the same side on both springs. Uberti on the outside, Winchester on the inside.
  2. It has two springs, but they are the same and interchangable. The Uberti and original Winchester use two different non-interchangable springs.
  3. Don't know. They aren't running any higher pressure cartridges than the Ubertis.
  4. The springs in the Winchester are designed differently than those in the Uberti and put a lot less stress on the parts they bear against. The Winchester is not all that bad out-of-the-box. Winchester carrier/lever spring on top. Uberti on the bottom. Winchester actually uses the same spring for the carrier and lever as the interior parts are designed slightly differently than the originals. The Uberti has a right and left side spring like an original Winchester.
  5. Be very cautious in modifying the stock springs. Because they have so little arch it only takes a small of amount of material to be removed to make a BIG difference in how much tension the springs retain. You can go from stock tension to no tension fairly quickly. Replacements are hard to get. On the lifter/lever springs because they are basically straight I just put a shim under them to raise them a little. This effectively lowers the tension.
  6. They use a flat mainspring but it is nothing like a Uberti. The Uberti uses a highly arched mainspring with hooks on the end that connect to a stirrup on the hammer. It is like an original Winchester. The new "Winchester" uses a much flatter mainspring that rides on a roller on the bottom of the hammer. It is not like an original Winchester. Uberti on top, new Winchester below.
  7. Not being a fashion expert are there any photos demonstrating what you are talking about?
  8. That was the "other" question I referenced in my earlier post. Almost without fail at any large match the number of WB shooters is 15% of those shooting the CAS match. I wonder where he is shooting that the WB shooters out number the CAS shooters?
  9. There was at least one other thing in the article I questioned. However on this one let me ask a question. If Western 3 Gun is only shot at Piru isn't it basically dead (as far as being some sort of viable shooting sport)?
  10. Have you looked at the price of new model frames with grips? They are hard to find and expensive when you do. You are talking way more dollars than a set of Eagle or other aftermarket grips.
  11. I just saw one of the primer fillers at a local store and posted the link. Didn't know there was a video. I too want to lock and load!
  12. I'll PM you my address. I take cash, check or money order. Seriously, I HATE filling primer tubes. I'm retired but I would rather waste my time doing something else. I bought one of those Italian ones that were out a few years ago. As I recall it was over $150.00 but worth every penny.

  14. That's because the 18" rifle configuration is fairly new. The 20" rifles have been around for over 20 years. The 20" Border Rifle (pistol grip) is the most popular configuration.
  15. Many from that time period were in .303 Savage which is hard to find anymore. A lot were also made in .30-30. What caliber did you get?
  16. OK. I get it now. I don't drinks coffee and I justs call donuts donuts. I am merely a humble peasant. But I am grumpy.
  17. Now I'm really grumpy since I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.
  18. I don't think his ammo will shoot 35 miles.
  19. They will replace it with the same crappy part. When you get it back take out the laddle and reinforce it.
  20. To cause a malfunction the loading gate tab does not even have to break off. If they bend rearwards just a bit the .38 rounds will jump the tab and wind up in the action.
  21. It does not matter who makes or sells them the bent tab design needs to be reinforced. Top OLD solid tab style 66 gate. Middle broken bent tab. Bottom reinforced bent tab.
  22. I have no idea how the comments on the profile page works of if you are even getting this. If you have a question please PM me so I can press the answer button and respond. I can't see the original "message" but it was something like, "where did you get it." Where did I get what? Again, please send things to the PM. I don't understand this profile stuff.
