  1. I have been a moderator for over 20 years. I guess it's because I have the skin of a rhino and the ability to look at things from a dispassionate perspective. I like the ideas Misty put together for a revamp of the SASSWire and it's continuation as a resource for SASS Members and new Members looking to get into the game. Doc Faraday
  2. Yes, loading data is not allowed. Hopefully, responses will be PM's and not public postings. thanks, Doc
  3. Dickwholliday,

The SASSWire Guidelines state that you may not sell for someone else.  I know that you are doing it fort a good cause, but them's the rules.

    Thanks,

    Doc

  4. Reminder. Please do not post load data. Links to powder manufacture sites are okay. thanks, Doc
  5. I think the issues have been addressed. No need for further comments. Doc
  6. Please do not post loads or suggestions for loading or how to load. Refer to manufacturer's recommendations. Our club recently (three weeks ago) had a fellow lose two fingers by using load data he got off the internet for a 45-70. The SASSWire guidelines prohibit communicating load data. Thanks, Doc
  7. We do warn in the Guidelines, "caveat emptor". The Classifieds is a service SASS provides for Members to exchange equipment. We make the assumption that SASS Members (who are the only ones who may sell) are honest and reliable folks. That is the case in 99.99% of the sales. We cannot prevent that 0.01% from selling junk. We do try to monitor repeated complaints about a particular seller and have banned some from selling. The only way we know is when parts point out a bad deal in a simple non-inflammatory way as did Tell Sackett. He did not mention the seller, however, which was truly the Cowboy Way. We do not permit seller bashing on the Classifieds, but a simple warning about a particular seller could be helpful to other buyers. Sending us a report is another way to let us know about bad sellers. Most of the time, however, these are one-off sellers getting rid of junk, never to be seen again.
  8. If we're going to keep this kind of thread, please keep it from getting personal and making personal attacks. Thanks, Doc
  9. Please keep the discussion on topic and refrain from derogatory comments directed to individuals. Thanks, Doc
  10. The decision was not based on telling people what they can or can't believe only that SASSWire history has shown that such discussions concerning politics and religion tend to lead to very nasty posts and personal attacks. These have no place on the SASSWire and thus are removed. Doc
  11. Please keep this thread positive and without personal attacks. Personal attacks have no place in the SASSWire. Doc
  12. This thread has drifted greatly from the original. Drifter, I would recommend you start it again and hopefully people will stick to the topic. This thread is now closed.
  13. I think this thread has gone on long enough. One of the things that has made SASS enjoyable for me is the fact that each stage, each match and each Club is different. SASS has tried to provide guidelines for those starting and are unsure what to do. This doesn't mean that all stages, all matches, all clubs can only use the recommendations in guidelines. There are also a set of "Stage Conventions". They are actions the shooter can take without penalty UNLESS the stage description states otherwise. Like target distance, they are not rules that must be obeyed, they are recommendations. I'm closing the thread because I think the question has been addressed several times and any further discussion is becoming personal and pointless.
  14. Discussion of loading data is always difficult on the SASSWire. I appreciate those referring to the manufacturer's guidelines and links to their sites. Please remember not to post any actual load data on the SASSWIre. Thank you all, Doc
  15. IIRC, these 97's have been modified in that the port has been widened to resemble a '93. It was determined that this was not legal for SASS main match. I haven't been involved with the ROC for a while now, so I don't know if that has been updated. Doc
