  1. Hello Folks, How wide spread W3G is does not matter. The sport was incorrectly and negatively portrayed in a Chronicle article by Palaver Pete, who wrote W3G is dead. IMO, any shooting sport, especially one so closely aligned with CAS stylistically as is W3G, should be embraced, not demeaned. People who buy guns for W3G, will look for other sports to use them and SASS is the primary other sport. The same goes for W3G as your CAS (and WBAS) guns may be used in that sport. Also, IMO, the WB and SASS officials have overcome most of the negativity that might have originally been directed toward the originators of W3G. They are different, but similar sports, as are WBAS and SASS. They all can coexist without animosity. As a final note, this is my personal opinion and I do not mean to disparage either SASS or W3G. I enjoy participating in both of them (and WBAS). Sincerely, Allie Mo

  2. My son Capt Sam Evans and I shoot Colts. We use 5 1/2" Second Gen 38 Specials. I have a vault full of Colt SAA's that are my personal guns. I am using Colts that I did action jobs on in the late 90's for CAS and they are still running. I have not had to replace any parts or springs. I have Custom Springs made for all the work and action jobs I do on Colt SAA's. I keep a large supply of colt parts in inventory for customer guns. Also I keep at least 6 to10 2nd Gen Colts on hand for sale. The earlier post referencing a shortage of Colt parts, I have always sourced all the parts I need for over 25 years with no shortage at all in the market place Goatneck

  3. I have them on all of my SASS rifles. I use as a ghost sight, just haoling the front sight. Very fast for me to pick up with my eyes.

  5. I shoot a pair of 3rd Generation 38sp Colts tuned by Bob James aka Arizona Tumber. They are as smooth as hot butter & have taken the abuse of the game without failing for 8 years.

  7. No. The ruling refers to the loops not the belt. Having rifle rounds on the belt is ok, but attaching the rifle loops to the outside of a shotgun loop is not ok

  10. I've used nothing but Colts since I started in the mid 90's ( that's 1990's although I was probably shooting mid 90 second stages too). Shot the Josie Wales shot at Tusco with 5 colts.

  11. Here are most of my Colts. Many of which I use for SASS. With three exceptions, these are all real Colts. The SAA's range from 1st to 3rd generation. The bottom middle one was my fathers. It and the one in the lower right hand corner were used along with the Lightning to shoot EoT clean earlier this year. Special bonus recognition to anyone who can spot the 3 non Colts in the bunch.
