Blackwater 53393 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Today marks three years since I lost a dear friend! It was the second such loss in ten days that new year! My unofficially adopted brother, Imis Twohoffen called to tell me that my substitute father, Blue Boy, had passed. This followed closely on the heels of the passing of Badger Mountain Charlie on January 7th, another cowboy with whom I had shared many a laugh and a meal or two! Blue Boy was 102 years old and, as far as we could discern, was the oldest active member of SASS at that time. Badger was the most prolific poster on the SASS Wire and one of the cornerstones of the Saloon! I spoke to both of them often and we carried on all the time! I’ve spent the last few days, mostly remembering them both fondly, and occasionally feeling very sad about their absence. I miss you guys!! Me ‘n’ Badger on a visit to see him in 2016 Blue Boy at Wartrace on his 102nd birthday!! Edited January 16 by Blackwater 53393 4 4 4 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 (edited) Please don’t feel bad for me or anyone else at this posting! They made us all happy and made us laugh a lot!! SMILE WHEN YOU THINK OF THEM!! That’s what they both would want!! If you remember ‘em like I do, you’ll turn those frowns upside down!! 😜 Edited January 16 by Blackwater 53393 3 4 Quote

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I remember BMC getting the best of me in some of my posts. Not many could do that but Charley made a contest of sorts out of it and we had a good time. 2 1 Quote

watab kid Posted January 17 Posted January 17 seems there are a lot of us passing these days , i get it that we are predominantly an older group and that is to be expected , but it never makes it easier on those left in the wake , those that shared all the great times as well as the hard times , im sorry to hear of these two passing's as well as all the others this year , my prayers are up for all that are affected here 1 Quote
