I’m hooked .

Targets are maybe 25-30 yards as you can see from the videos.

The 50/50 is a bench rest match, like @Crooked River Pete, SASS 43485 said. You shoot 25 rounds at the circles on the target below. The top 3 circles are for sighting in. You can shoot those as many times as you like. The 25 circles are the targets for the match. You shoot one round at each circle. A center hit is 10 points. The scores are tallied by row. The center is 10 points and each circle is 1 less point; 10, 9, 8, 7, etc. You have 30 minutes to shoot all 25. Example target They also have a rimfire match called “Know your limit”. I haven’t shot that one yet. You shoot each target from largest to smallest, but I am not sure of the range.
Sedalia Dave
Here's a look at my home clubs Rimfire Challenge. No special targets, we use our standard CAS targets. Some stages are all pistol targets, Some all Rifle and some are mix of rifle and pistol targets. RIMFIRE/STEEL CHALLENGE/COWBOY AT THE TEXAS TROUBLEMAKERS RANGE We use the best of 3 shooting sports. The best of Rim Fire, we only use rimfire guns and the shooter could use only one if they choose but no more than two guns per shooter. It is a shooters choice, 1 pistol, 1 rifle, 2 pistols, 2 rifles or 1 pistol and 1 rifle. Ammo is to be 22lr, 22long or 22short. No 22 magnum or 17’s. The best of Steel Challenge, there are only 5 targets per stage. One designated Stop Plate that has to be shot last. The other 4 targets may be shot any order. The best of Cowboy Action, target size and distance. The targets may be as close as 5-6 yards and no further than 20 yards. The targets will vary in size but for the most part will be larger than Steel and Rimfire Challenge. And we use Cowboy Action prop buildings and stages. As in Rimfire and Steel Challenge each stage will be a 5 string stage with the high time string thrown out, the combine total of the best 4 strings is the shooters score for each stage. 3 second miss and 30 maximum score for a stage. Misses can be made up as long as the stop plate has not been hit. Failure to hit the stop plate results in the max score being entered for that string. All stages will be stand and deliver, no movement. Rimfire/Steel Challenge Rules for gun handling apply, no holsters need or allowed, all guns stay in the case until on the firing line. Any off firing line handling of guns must be at a loading/unloading table. Cost is 10.00 per shooter per gun with a max of 2 guns per shooter. We will shoot a minimum of 4 stages but no more than 6 stages. The categories are: Men-18 and above iron sights Men-18 and above optic sights Women-18 and above iron sights Women-18 and above optic sights Junior boys 17-12 iron sights Junior girls 17-12 optic sights Young’un boys 11and under iron sights Young’un girls 11 and under optic sights Guns may be any rimfire: pistol, revolver or rifle. Revolvers, lever action and bolt action are OK but will be much slower on the stage. Just something to keep in mind, no wants to spend the day watching someone else load a gun on the firing line. If you use a semi auto gun please have enough magazines to shoot the stage. If magazines hold only 10 please have at least 5 magazines. This will make the stage follow much faster and be much more fun. If you have the high capacity magazines 20 rounds and above, 2-3 will usually do the trick. 1

Rye Miles #13621
We do 5 targets one is designated as the stop target. You shoot the stop target last after you’ve hit the other 4. If you miss a target you shoot it again until you hit it. You’re timed and you shoot 5 times. Each string of 5 is recorded and then all 5 rounds are added up and you divide by 4 getting rid of the highest run. That’s your score. When everyone is done we change the targets around and do it all over so you use a minimum of 25 rounds each time more if you miss. I shot 4 different guns so I went through about 200+ rounds. Pat Riot
7 hours ago, Sedalia Dave said: What size is the 10 ring? Sorry Dave. I was wrong. It’s 1/4”. Last night I was half asleep when I posted. I thought I clarified or corrected it. I guess that was a dream or something. I am trying to remember the exact words of the program director of the match. If you hit the dot it’s 10. If within the ring but dot’s still there it’s 9, as you go out the numbers go down. If you break a ring line you get the higher score of the ring.
