Grumble!

Just saw a commercial on the television, a Memorial Day blurb.  "Today we honor our veterans!"

How hard is it for these advertising people to keep it straight?
Memorial Day is for those who Gave The Last Full Measure,
Armed Forces Day is for those currently in uniform
Veterans Day (Armistice Day) is for honoring those who served but are still with us.

Budweiser and their support of Folds of Honor.

Given that that program is aimed at supporting the families of the fallen you would think that they would get it right.

Is this it?

Folds of Honor isn't limited to just Gold Star families, it also helps families of critically wounded veterans.

The commercial was probably made for Veteran's Day, repurposed to Memorial Day.

It's okay. Yeah, I'd like to see them get it right, but I'm not wrapped around the axle on it. I'd rather have the money that would be spent on fixing that one little flaw go to  the people the organization helps.

No, a different one.  Just shows the can, and has the voice over about "honoring our veterans." (something like that)

I agree that the Cause is a most excellent one, but DAMMIT!  get the wording for the occasion right.  With the advertizing budget of the parent corporation, it wouldn't even be pocket change to get the wording right, if for no other reason to help inform the public that Memorial Day isn't about hotdogs and the first "official" cookout of the season, or even the all important mattress sales, but about those who gave their lives for our republic.

You're asking too much form our undereducated and over paid news media types.

Most likely the guy who wrote the commercial never served and probably came from a family where no one served

i cant understand why the commercial market has to use these days to run sales events and such , this is a day we intended to honor our dead that didnt come home from the wars we sent them to on our behalf , its not a day for a sale ......................

if they want to rin a sale for veterans/armistice day to give the survivors of those wars a break it might almost make sense to me
