ORNERY OAF
Pards, I'm getting old and I'm looking for a certain rifle, believ it was made by uberti, replica of an old lever gun in 50-70 govt. Ive seen one here but I can't find it on Google. Can one of you fine fellows post what it is and maybe a picture. It didn't have a barrel length mag tube and had a special name maybe??? What says the rogues gallery?
Subdeacon Joe
Well, I've been able to find that both Uberti and Pedersoli made them, but I haven't been able to find anything else about them. All my searches bring up .45-70.

Unable to find any references to a lever action repeater in that chambering anywhere. Alpo
The Winchester 1886 - the original, not a Browning or Uberti or Pedersoli copy - was available in 50/110 Express. That's the only 50 caliber cartridge I've ever heard of chambered in a lever, and that's the only lever gun I've ever heard of chambered in a 50 caliber cartridge. Never heard of a 50/70 chambered in any sort of repeater.
Trailrider #896
Also in the M1886, .50-100-450?. Same cartridge case, but with a heavier bullet and possibly faster twist rifling. Pretty rare.
ORNERY OAF
The 76 lever came in a 50-95..that's not the one, maybe I'm tetched in the head. I swear I remember one being sold here, had a bunch of brass, had a weird name like ranger or marshall...ok,maybe I needs to look a little further. 13 hours ago, PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L said: Search of the Classifieds found only one .50-70 rifle...but it was a Sharps single shot.
