Spiffy Starr, SASS #28337
Following the directions for using the dies, my Lee 38/387 resizing die cuts a ring around the brass, about an eighth inch or so above the base. I'm using this in a Lee Turret press. I don't have that problem when using my Dillon Dies, but I hate having to pull it out of the Dillon shell holder for the rare times I want to experiment in the Lee press. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
Can you post a photo of the ring? It may help the Wire with your question.

Phantom, SASS #54973
Weird...sounds like the cases are bulging...kinda common...but should size ok. Phantom
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Does it do this with all cases?
Oak Ridge Regulator
The 38 Lee resizing die I have squeezes the brass a little bit more then everyone else’s dies especially down close to the base which is why I use their resize die, if you set a Lee resize die down to far it is very likely to cause a ring down close to the base of the cartridge. when a RCBS, Dillon or Lyman die is set to the same height you probably won’t see a ring. Try backing your resize die off a half turn and see if that helps
Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Unless and until the OP gets back to us, continuing this thread is sort of pointless.
