Does anyone know if they make them and if so, who puts them in?

Short stroking a Uberti or Pietta has to be done by a competent gunsmith that works on Uberti's or Pietta's.

Which gunsmith could do such a feat?

There are several! Ken Griner is one.

Boomstick Jay is another.

I’m sure that others here can recommend some as well!

it's cheaper and easier to just purchase a factory short stroke Uberti / Taylor and tune it (or mfg tuned as well).  Sell your old kit to offset the cost or you know.... keep it and its just an excuse to add to the collection!

That said I just bought a nice match pair of *used* Taylor tuned short stroked revolvers and one of them isn't firing every time (light primer strikes).  The good news is that because it was mfg short stroked and tuned they (Taylor) are repairing it.  I tried to find kits to modify an existing pair and it just wasn't worth it and would probably require a gunsmith to fit anyway.  I went with the path of least resistance (and expanded the collection).  win/win.

You might get lucky and find a pair for sale at an event.  My shooting buddy scored an awesome matched pair of short stroke vaqueros that way.  damn him.   I found my set of Taylors on Gunbroker.

I've got a pair already factory short stroked. One is a Uberti SASS Pro and the other is a Taylor's Running Iron, not a perfect match but darn close. Both are 357 and 5 1/2 inch barrels. I be willing to part with them if you are interested. Al

My original goal was to get a pair of short stroked Evil Roys.  I couldn't find a reasonable path there and here's a question that I couldn't actually answer and planned on posting on the forum.  At the risk of distracting from your original post maybe you can answer or somebody else can.   What is the difference between an Evil Roy tuned revolver and any of the other factory tuned clone models from Taylor / Cimarron / Uberti.  The mfg website doesn't really say.... I haven't found anything specific online.... is it just a branded model or is there something fundamentally different about it?

something else to consider.  It occurred to me that whatever I did to short stroke an Evil Roy would replace nearly everything that made an Evil Roy an Evil Roy.   If the tuning is unique then it really won't be Evil Roy tuned after customizing.  Seemed a step in the wrong direction.

From what I can tell and learned, it is pretty much the same as a tuned and polished Uberti such as a Taylor. It just has the "Evil Roy" engraving on it.

I think Truman said that in a conversation with MacArthur
