irish ike, SASS #43615 Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 I did a lot of design work at San Diego Naval Base. 3 of the buildings were were modernizing were training for on board repair and maintenance. Machine shop, laundry, HVAC, electrical. etc. Everything that was needed to keep the ship going was in a training building there. Some of the equipment was older than dirt. But it got the point across. The fire fighting school was a real challenge.
Null N. Void Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Firefighting school was on of the highlights of Boot Camp. Nothing like being on top of the structure, it gets lit off, and your group gets to put it out.
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Didn't attend any military firefighting schools but as a volunteer went to Texas A&M's fire school three times. The best parts of the courses were when they lit the structures so we could put them out.
