Yul Lose Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 This issue really got to me with the number of Trailmarkers for pards that I’ve met over the years.
Chancy Shot, SASS #67163 Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Yes, it is sad. We have a boot hill with markers / name plates for members who have passed. I am the one who makes the markers, and it hits hard sometimes. The other side of the coin is that we are upright, taking nourishment and reading the Chronicle. Chancy
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 You know the old saying, "you know you are getting old when you read the obits to see what your friends are doing."
Creeker, SASS #43022 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 All we can do is mourn for ourselves and for the folks who loved these people and miss them. Those that have left us; they no longer need our tears - their match is complete. The best we can do is to emulate those that we admired; avoid repeating the actions of those we didn't and simply hope we arrive at our maker dust covered, beat up, worn out and exclaiming, "Thank you for giving me my life. That was fun"

Jackrabbit Joe #414 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 You know it is sad when you lose some one over the years of cowboy action shooting with certain ones. But figure on meeting up with them somewhere in time. Thanks for the memories.
Stump Water Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 I thought the same thing Yul. Well said Creeker. You reminded me of something my late father said when we were discussing "the point" of funerals. He said, "You don't do it for the one that has passed on. You do it for those that are still here."
