Forty Rod SASS 3935
Gilding the lilly. Most horses ARE art, they don't need to be decorated. The ugliest horse I ever saw cleaned up pretty well and was one of the most gentle, loving animals I ever saw. She was on a ranch for Down's Syndrome kids in Ogden, Utah. Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp,To guard a title that was rich before,To gild refined gold, to paint the lily,To throw a perfume on the violet,To smooth the ice, or add another hueUnto the rainbow, or with taper-lightTo seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish,Is wasteful and ridiculous excess. Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663
Interesting. I can see it for parade horses. Can't see Roy Rogers doing that to Trigger, or Gene Autry doing that to Champion, or the Lone Ranger doing that to Silver! .
