Forty Rod SASS 3935
I don't use my printer (HP Envy Photo 6255) very often and need to change the ink cartridges. I CAN'T GET THE TOP OPEN. Is there a secret to this? I can get the lid open to the plate, but the compartment below it won't budge. I don't recall any problems before. Forty Rod SASS 3935
Yeah, I saw that and it doesn't help. The top lid over the copy plate opens, but the lid to the printer mechanism will not budge. I suppose I could get a bigger hammer???????????????? Eyesa Horg
On my HP units the front folds down and the cartridges come scooting across. Small finger slot on the left side of mine.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
Same thing Sarge. It's all over the internet, but it doesn't tell you how to open the top of the damn printer. Now, I'm gonna tell you how (I stumbled on this by accident): 1. unplug the thing from the electrical thing on the wall. 2. Go get a drink of water, take leak, or something else that takes about five minutes. 3. Plug it back in. 4. Open the lid like normal. I'm not sure why the unpowered delay works.....and don't really care.....as long as it does work. Save this for future reference. You can bet I will. Utah Bob #35998
Probably had some electrons jammed up in the power cord. When you unplugged it the drained out and the jam was cleared. Mmmm …..jam. What were we talking about?
