Buckshot Bear Posted July 31, 2021 Share Posted July 31, 2021 I have a Uberti 73 Competition Rifle on the way, should arrive on Monday. The only thing I'm a little disappointed is with the end of the stock. I wish it had the curved blued period buttplate. Am happy with the octagonal barrel though, always wanted a lever action rifle with an octagonal barrel. I still have the Winchester 73 Competition rifle on order, but its delivery got pushed back another 4-5 months so I couldn't wait and went for the Uberti. I will probably ask for my deposit back after using the Uberti for a couple of weeks. I have ordered one of these off eBay to go over the buttstock. Doc X Posted July 31, 2021 Share Posted July 31, 2021 Congratulations on your new arrival! I actually prefer the flat butt on my Uberti Competition rifle, but I like the flat butt on Marlins too. I've found the factory rubber butt pad on the Uberti is soft enough it doesn't want to move around. You may want to consider trying it both ways.
