Hmmm...built in home protection. 
 

Personally, I probably would have done the same. My wife may not think it would be cool to have a family of bears under the house, though. :D

Better bears than skunks. Our house is on a slab to keep skunks out.

 

Last year a skunk died under one of our sheds. Woowee! That was unpleasant.

Had one under the cabin last year. Smoked him out then smoked him with a shotgun in the yard. Duh a hole on the upwind side and rolled him in. The grass grew back after a bit.

As a young kid 79-10, we live 12 miles from the UP  Bears were a constant thought for us as they were quite prevalent.  My mom told us bears like fat little Finlander boys - they were pink and juicy - I was always mindful of that.
