Lawdog Dago Dom

Shortcake and I met later in life after enduring prior bad relationships. We always thought a "Cowboy" wedding would have been fun, had we been doing CAS over 20 years ago when me first met. Well, this year would be our 10 year wedding anniversary, and I wanted her to have that "Cowboy" ceremony as a surprise. Sergeant Duroc jumped on board immediately, and we thought the Iowa State SASS Match would be a good place. Iowa was the first match we shot outside of Illinois, and we enjoyed it very much. Marshall Kane got on board, as did the Fort Des Moines Rangers; JB Kidd, Half Fast Len, Hot Iron Heater, Tuco, and Little Hermana. Zen Shootists then jumped in. Along with Sergeant Duroc were Clay Thornton (and Mrs Thornton) and Memphis Reins. And of course our local shooters from ILIowa Irregulars and River City Regulators; Doolittle Be Earnest (and Mrs Doolittle), Clara Belle, Count Sandor. and Partner and Partner's Partner. "Bear" was our cowboy preacher and did a fantastic job. Our oldest son and his wife showed up with the grandkids, further adding to Shortcake's surprise! These pictures are courtesy of Little Hermana, and Doolittle shot the video. Marshall Kane suggested I write the vows, and I did have fun doing that. Also thanks to Buster and Sunny Girl who sent shots to Shortcake's facebook page. First picture is Shortcake being escorted by Sgt Duroc, and not sure about a) where I am, and b) where is she going? Next is me asking Shortcake if she would do it all over again (she agreed). Next shot is the grandkids showing up. Then our official "cowboy" wedding belt buckles. It was an awesome day. Feel free to post any pictures you may have. Thank you all so much for a super special day!

It was a very nice ceremony. The look on Shortcakes face were priceless. Two wonderful people. Congrats again.

What a special couple!  I'm glad I got to be part of it all.  I did get a little nervous when Shortcake was asked to love Lawdog more than chocolate.  I thought it might go south quick!  Look forward to seeing the happy couple down the trail.

There was a distinct hesitation on her part at that point!

I guess I'm still ok as long as nobody with a last name of Hershey, Cadbury, Mars, Nestle or Ghiradelli moves into the neighborhood.

I think I saw Chili Pepper Kid wiping a tear of joy from his eye.

That's funny. I thought I saw John Wesley Hardin getting a little misty eyed.
