Jabez Cowboy,SASS # 50129 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 The letter denotes year of manufacture ... At least it did when "Marlin" made them ... Jabez Cowboy
Mink Shoals Bandit, #49388 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Here, this will add to the confusion......... LOL http://marlin-collectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2288
Pat Riot Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Cheyenne Ranger, this may help if your gun was made before 2011. http://www.gunvaluesboard.com/marlin-serial-numbers-dates-of-manufacture-1664.html
Chili Ron Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Howdy, iirc Marlin has had several patterns for showing mfg date in the serial number. I believe you need to know which series you are in first. Look around and get the best word on this. Best CR ps-or just skip it and use the time to go SHOOT
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 None of our 3, modern 94's have any letter in the serial number. Take the first 2 numbers of the serial, and subtract from 2000 for the 'birth' year. OLG
