Nota John, SASS #51089L
Thanks for the replys. This logo is on a Italian built ( stamping on barrel says so, but no black powder warning ) brass framed .36 Navy, purchased from Intercontinental Arms in 1970. It has the 2 Gardone proof marks on frame, cylinder, and barrel along with the date code XXVI (1970 ) on the frame. The logo mark is on the barrel underside just forward of the loading lever hinge area. Can't seem to find any information on this logo. Hopefully I may someday find the manufacturers name. Thanks again. Nota

McCandless
That logo... could there possibly be a lightly struck 'M' next to the 'AVI'?
Fingers McGee
That is the mark of MAVI di Salvinelli, an Italian arms maker from the 1960s. As far as I know they were bought by Armi San Marco in the early 1970s.
Nota John, SASS #51089L
Mr. McGee and Mr, McCandless, Thank you both for the identification. I have wondered for many years as to the manufacturer, now I am enlightened. By the way, the stamp is light on the left side, hence the " M " is missing.I shall make note of the stamp on my logo information listing from PowderHombre. Again, thanks kindly.
