Not the best.

In spite of all our prayers and attempts at rehab and therapy, she has not been able to respond as the Doctors etc. hoped.

She has reached a plateau where she seems stalled and it is at a level where they will not allow her to come home.

I spend three+ hours with her in the morning and another three+ in the evening until she tires each day.

She has been told she will be going into Long Term Care and she mentioned she was expecting that due to her lack of progress.

Not what she, Ian and I wanted, but it is what we will have to deal with.

Pard : I really don't know what to say .

But I will continue to pray for all of you, and if you ever need to talk call me ...

My wife has worked in long term care for the last two decades first as a RN on the floor then as an educator training staff. Then the last 6 years as a manager...

Till my health took a turn for the worse 10 months ago, now she is working casual in a mental health center.

Stay strong

Sadly, there has been no improvement. The diagnosis has not been good.

The Doctors explained to us she reached a plateau some time ago and has not been able to progress beyond that.

She is unable to walk and in pain with her legs etc. Even sitting up in a wheelchair is uncomfortable for her and she cries to be placed back in bed.

They are not allowing her to return home and she is now on the waiting list to enter Long Term Care.

It's pretty sad around here for Ian and I and it'll be a sadder Christmas without her here.

Her brothers and sister have been to see her, but it is difficult for them to see her the way she is now and the way she is going downhill.

Currently, she is isolated and being tested for possible Covid and I have to dress in full PPE just to sit with her and hold her hand, while I wear gloves.

I visit with her from 10:00 AM until around 1:00 PM then from around 5:30 to 7:30 to 8:00 or so, although she has been tiring easily and dozing off earlier all the time and tells me I might as well go home.

It takes me about 1/2 hour to drive to or from the Hospital.

I spend some time here to try to take my mind off it a bit, but there have been tears.

Thanks Pards. This morning, when I went to visit her, I was stopped and told she was now isolated due to a strong suspicion she has Covid and I could not see her pending the results of more Covid tests.

I was able to speak to her on the 'phone, after a meeting with the placement people who administer entry into LTC Homes here.
