Nimble Fingers SASS# 25439
She was 95, surounded by family and listening to music from the Quiet Man, according to what I read off Fox app yesterday. She was a great actress, in more than a few westerns, but I always thought there were stars in her eyes when she was opposite John Wayne! Now we will never know what she whisperred to him at the end of The Quiet Man" as they have both taken it to their graves. I plan on watching Rio Grande tonigh in her hoinor as while I love the Irish music in The Quiet Man, I love the Sons of the Pioneers more. If someone else posted a notice of her passing I went back 6 pages and didn't see it. THe cream of Hollywood is leaving us way to fast! Trailrider #896
A classy lady, with spirit as a actress and as a character in her movies. (BTW, what do you think Mary Kate Danaher Troop whispered to her husband, that sent the both of them racing to the house? )
Spades Hanlin SASS#66204
My wife and I always loved her and the Duke together, my wife has always said she could see IT between them!!! Yes the great ones are leaving with very few to take their places, they just don't make movies the way they used to that's a fact!!! Spades H. Nimble Fingers SASS# 25439
I always thought that the last time they were in the field, arguing about planting roses, not a turnup, potato being planted, and he answered "or children", that she now whispered about starting "planbting" children and thru the stick away. She said in her memoir that she would take it to her grave, and he was the only other one that knew what she said. Nimble Fingers.
Augustus Goodnight
Just saw this today and am truly saddened. She was always one of my favorites. Mary Kate Danaher indeed. Spades, you nailed it, they don't make 'em like they used to. I just may have to throw a good old Irish 3 day drunk in memoriam...
Snakebite
Yet another connection to the past broken. I live for today, but sometime long for what seemed to be a simpler time. I'm glad that we have her movies to allow us to visit the past every so often. A rainy day, a hot toddy and one of her old movies... with the Duke....... hard to beat.
