It gets passed around on a dozen forums like this, and put on Youtube, where another 50 million people see it. And it gets talked about for weeks, maybe months or years. "Hey, remember that Doritos commercial with the guy teasing the dog through the door? That was funny as hell!" It sounds outrageous, but if the ad people do the job right and come up with ads that people remember and associate with the correct product, it may be the best deal in advertising. That VW Darth Vader ad is up at least a dozen times on Youtube right now, posted by people other than VW. Those already total over 50,000 hits. The one that VW has posted has over 15 million hits.
