Looks like we will need a couple of volunteers to run the long range side match. We can offer you all the long range shooting you can stand. Long Range Course of fire Centerfire Rifles 1 shot on each 100 yards 125 Yards 150 yards 165 yards 200 yards. Pistol Caliber Rifle 1 Shot on each 50 yards 75 yards 100 yards 125 yards 165 Yards Pistol 2 Shots at 50 Yards 1 Shot at 75 1 shot at 100 1 Shot at 125.

The rain continues here in North Alabama. Many of the people at the state match will tell you it was the Wettest they had seen the range. I would have to agree with them. We have had another 2 inches of rain. Soggy ground out there right now.

As other stated yes. The commander timer works with android and iPads. The competition electronics works with droid tablets. We use Practiscore for Cowboy match’s, USPSA, Steel Challenge and Rimfire Challenge.

We have considered putting in ferry service at the creek. The last time the creek was up it was about 4”s over the bridge. I think most vehicles are safe to cross except the Prius, those will probably float away.

Getting the TG’s to only have an hour long meeting might be an issue.

Ambush At Cavern Cove will be held September 25th through the 27th. We moved the match to the last weekend in September so that where not back to back with the Nationals. The match will be held at Cavern Cove Competitive Shooting range in Woodville Al. We will be shooting 10 stages over two days. Shooters will have access to practiscore to change their posse or category if they desire. Camping or room rental on the range. We have a total 57 camping spots on the range. Many of these camping spots have a lifetime reservation. If you not see an open spot or room check back. Rooms under the pavilion have a double bed. They have a shared bathroom and shower under the pavilion. You will need to bring your own bedding. I was waiting to see if we were going to get the match before I called it the South East Regional. If we did not get the regional again we where going to have a 2 day match.

Howdy all. The 2025 Alabama State Championship is on the books for May 1st through the 3rd at the Cavern Cove Competitive Shooting range. The stages are designed by Deadlee Shooter, they will be big, close and fast. We will have Mollys Buckles for the category winners. Thursday May 1st will be our side match day. Side matches scheduled as of right now are Wild Bunch, Black Powder, Warm up match and long range. The Long Range side match will be shot on targets 75, 100, 125, 150, 165, 175 and 200 yards. Most likely will be a pot luck dinner on the range. Friday May 2nd we will shoot 5 stages and then have the side match awards and a meal under the pavilion on the range. Saturday May 3rd we will shoot the remaking 5 stages and then that evening have the main match awards and dinner under the pavilion on the range. Sunday May 4th we will have a charity shoot to benefit Saint Jude’s. This is a charity shoot I set up a few years back, the shooting fee is donations only, the Cowboy shooters have been very generous in their donations. Thank you. Hello All As we are preparing and planning for the South East Regional I had a couple of questions. There will a be a link below to answer the questions so I can get an accurate response. Long range match is a pretty straight forward fixed or mixed distance question. PCC Side match is a bit more complicated. The question is, shoot a steel which involves knock downs and taking the time to reset knock downs. Additionally no jacketed ammo on static steel and there needs to be a minimum safe distance to avoid splatter issues. The other issue is set up. Or shoot a paper match. The paper match requires pasting the targets, which we have found to take a little less time than resetting knock downs. Also there is no restriction on target distance. No restriction on ammo. There were extenuating circumstances. Shoot the bugger from 200 yards and put a hole through the Hill House or camo up the golf cart and stalk in close. So I guess we might need some help. We called this guy but he was not much help.
