Man, they were good. The Chicken Oil Company, an establishment in Bryan, Texas (Texas A & M), served a Death Burger which is the hottest thing I've ever eaten. Took half an hour and three beers to get around it. Website says they are closed...other than the pain it was a fun place!
Blackwater 53393 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 There was a place in Murfreesboro, TN back in the seventies, when Schoolmarm and I were dating and on up ‘til she graduated college and moved away, that served one of the best “just plain ol’ burgers” that I have ever eaten!! The Rebel Maid Drive In! They did burgers, shakes, ice cream cones, (soft serve) and banana splits and sundaes. It was three doors down from the tractor dealership where I worked and I visited it at least twice a week!! The old grannies that ran the place would see me coming and my burgers were hot and fresh when I got to the window and there was always a place for me to sit. The only question they ever asked was what kind of shake or split I wanted and they’d whip it up and bring it to me before I had three bites! Long gone now, it’s a fond memory amongst the folks who frequented the place!
