A week’s worth of groceries in 1947. It costs a total of $12.50 a week to buy all of these groceries. This managed to feed a family of 4. #timecapsule #throwbackphoto #history

That's about the size of my $243.00 batch from yesterday.......and that's just for my dog and me.

The minimum wage in 1947 was $.40/hour. That equates to 31 hourds to buy those groceries. Seems we're doing better!

It's probably still pretty close to that at minimum wage.
