IDAHO EXPANDS 2nd AMENDMENT

Recommended Posts

All Idaho voters need to contact their State Senator and both of their State House Representatives to support this as an important commonsense solution to school shootings.

HB 415 allows teachers and school employees to carry firearms in Idaho schools.

Idaho is protecting our children by enhancing school safety under our rights under the 2nd Amendment

And if it passes, I hope it exempts any school personnel, or anyone who happens to be on the school grounds, who stop any individual, with whatever means they use, who tries to hurt anyone, in any school from a law suite by the perpetrator or his family from a criminal or civil lawsuit.

Kudos to the state for posting bill text with deletions and additions in a human readable format:

On followup for who is covered under the employee definition, from the bill text ...

Quote

(i) "School employee" means ... volunteers

So not a visitor or random parent, but anyone legitimately working at the school.

Also public schools can not post "no guns" signs, but other (by inference through omission, private and religious schools still may post public signage).  This respects property and religious freedoms.

In combination with no civil liability for engaging, there is also a liability shield for not engaging. Carrying a firearm implies no duty to engage. This provides comprehensive immunity.
