Col Del Rio Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 An office mate has problems with his 44 mag Henry. He says that spent cartridges are sticking in the chamber. Is this just bad ammo or is there something wrong with the rifle?
BLACKFOOT SASS #11947 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Probably extractor problem. But
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Factory ammo or reloads? Use a .50 brass brush and clean the chamber. Needs a 'deep' cleaning to start with.

Dilli GaHoot Galoot Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Any chance he (or someone else) shot a bunch of 44 spl and didn't clean the chamber afterwards. Same issue exists with 357 mag / 38 spl rifles and revolvers were the shorter cartridge leaves a ring or carbon that the longer case gets stuck on
Griff Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Pictures of fired brass will aid in long distance diagnosing of unseen problem. Your responses will be closer to the scientific wild-assed guess end of the spectrum of possible answers, rather than the silly wild-assed guess end.
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Henry has a life time warranty on the firearm itself . Don't even bother working on it . Just send it in . If they can't fix it they will give him a new rifle shipped directly to his house . No FFL needed . Rooster
