Higgins changed his name

to Andrew Jackson Higgins as he wanted to be known as the 2nd savior of New Orleans. After the war when the PT boats were being burned in the south Pacific and Formosa he bought their engines and had them shipped to New Orleans to build yachts. the wood they were crated in turned out to have Formosa termites which have eaten up New Orleans

they used those in the swamps in Louisiana for oil drilling and exploration and were perfect for the troops. One of my dad’s friends joined the coast guard to get out of action so he thought. he drove landing craft in the Pacific in two or campaigns
