That area is beautiful. I drove through there years ago. I used to wish I could ride my motorcycle up there and spend some time there.

There are portions of the High Sierra that are actually taller than the Rockies, when you consider the altitude at which the "mountain" starts to rise.  Some of the most gorgeous areas on the planet.
